1977

Bo Bobinski writes, “Greetings from Baghdad. I was sorry to miss our 30th reunion but am promised some pictures from Devra Brown. My Army Reserve unit was mobilized, and I'm currently serving as the Deputy for Civil Military Operations, Multi National Corps - Iraq. I should be home in August 2008. Our young men & women of the Armed Forces are doing magnificent work under difficult circumstances. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts & prayers.”

Fred Davidson ’77 just celebrated his 31st anniversary with Chrysler Financial this year.  After working in Macon, he relocated to Atlanta, GA, Columbia, SC, Detroit, MI, and Memphis, TN.  He moved to the Dallas-Ft Worth area in 2003, where he is an Operations Manager for the Southwest Customer Contact Center. He has two sons: Steven, age 16, who is a junior at Northwest High School and Logan, age 13, who is in the eighth grade at Gene Pike Elementary School.

1983

Brenda Schoffstall ’83 Harrison received her PhD in Molecular Bio-Physics from Florida State University in December 2006. Her research concerned calcium uptake in the mitochondria of cardiac cells, utilizing nano-techology.  She is now on staff at Barry University in Miami, Florida, and will continue her research contact with FSU during the summers. 

1984

Lynn Wiggins ’84 Gabrielsen writes, “Two of my former students, Kate Pyles’00 Royal and Carson Royal ’00, visited Ponte Vedra Beach this summer with Kate's parents.  My family joined them at the Inn and Club for swimming and lunch.  Two of my favorite ‘Kate’s,’ Kate Pyles Royal and my daughter, Kate, finally got to meet each other!  We had such a good time!  My husband, Jimmy, Kate(5) and Jimmy III (3) are enjoying living at the beach!  As Jimmy continues to work for the PGA Tour, I am quickly becoming a golf enthusiast. I am involved in my children's preschool and am chairing our annual fundraiser.  I miss teaching and my love, Shakespeare, and am looking forward to getting back in the classroom when the kids are a little older.  I encourage any FPD alumni who visit Ponte Vedra to please give us a call!  I'd love to see you!”  

1986

Keith Watson ’86 is excited about his involvement with a new church planted in downtown Macon. New City Church Downtown held its first service on Sept. 16, 2007, at the Cox Capital Theater. Keith is the lead pastor and is so excited about this new adventure! It is great to be ministering in the downtown area. Keith was also honored to be recognized in the Macon Magazine as a "Five under 40" Young Leader this past August. Keith and his wife Amy have 3 children: Ivey (12), Robby (10) and Elijah (4).

1987

Doug Perry ’87 and wife Ann Henley welcomed their 5 th child (4 th girl) to their family. Ann Henley Graydon Perry was born December 19, 2006.

1989

Sallie Wade ’89 Nowacek and husband George are now living in Virginia.  They have two children, Lulu (8 months) and George (4).  Sallie is still working for Art Finds International, a company that sells original oil paintings at in home shows.

1990

Chris and Jennifer Taylor '90 Prince announce the birth of their daughter Piper Lee Prince born August 30, 2007. She weighed 7 pounds10 ounces and was19 ½ inches long. She joins big brother Peyton (FPD 4 th grade) and big sister Sadie-Grace (FPD 2 nd grade). Jennifer teaches psychology at FPD.

1991

Lori Bryan ’91 Hatcher and husband Chris welcomed a new baby girl on July 19th, 2007.  Her name is Talley Ann.  She joins her 7 year old brother Ty. Lori’s husband Chris became the new head football coach of the Georgia Southern University Eagles in January 2007.  GO EAGLES!!!

1992

Hallie Harper ’92 Giuliano writes, “We unfortunately didn't make it back for the reunion because we're expecting our second child (a girl) in December.  My husband Lenny, our 2-year-old son Leo & I live outside of Washington, DC in Herndon, Virginia. We've been here since 1997 and really love it - just wish it were closer to the beach!  Lenny is a Senior Systems Engineer for Juniper Networks. I quit my job as Director of Technical Project Management for a technology company when I had Leo and am enjoying staying home with him. I do some financial and website consulting for a friend's small business in my ‘spare time.’ Otherwise, I have channeled my energies into organizing play dates and running our neighborhood social committee - much less stressful than the corporate world and more fun!  For those of you who remember my little brother Matt, he is a sophomore at Clemson studying Mechanical Engineering. Now doesn't that make you feel old!  Hope everyone had a great time at the reunion and we'll catch you in 2012 at the 20-year!  If anyone is in the DC area, drop me a line.” heg@alumni.duke.edu

Davey Keys ’92 was recently promoted to a Senior Field Service Representative position within EmpiCare a subsidiary of ReAble Therapeutics.  Davey writes, “Peg, the girls and I are enjoying living in our house in historic Stanislaus where we recently purchased and renovated a home built in 1927.”  

1993

Ben Roberts ’93 and wife Ashley announce the birth of their daughter Ashlyn Sawyer Roberts born August 27, 2007. She weighed 7.4 pounds and was 19 inches long. The Roberts family lives in Waynesboro, GA.

1994

Ansley Tharpe ’94 finished her residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in June 2007.  She is currently working as a hospitalist for a local hospital in Nashville, TN.  In July 2008 she will be starting fellowship training in gastroenterology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville.

Rob Wall ’94 and wife Elizabeth welcome the arrival of son Robert "Haywood" Wall on March 20, 2007. Haywood weighed 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. Rob, Elizabeth & Haywood live in Macon where Rob is practicing tax law with Smith, Hawkins, Hollingsworth & Reeves LLP. Rob received a BA from Wake Forest University, a JD degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and an LLM in Taxation from the University of Denver.

Connie Meeks ’94 Rawlins and husband Chris announce the birth of their daughter. Carlie Ray Rawlins was born November 3, 2007 weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces and measuring 19 inches long.

Ben McCurdy ’94 completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Georgia in June 2007, and will finish a fellowship in Pain Management in June 2008.  His wife Lacy works part-time as a pediatrician at the Medical College of Georgia.  Their daughter, Bailey, is now 15-months old and very busy!

Mary Bowman ’94 Huff was recently selected as a “Five Under 40” Leader by Macon Magazine for her involvement in the Macon community.  Mary writes, “Another summer highlight was working with public relations intern Christen Bates, class of 2004.  Christen is an absolute delight and a very talented young lady.  As a future leader, she is definitely one to watch!”

1996

Perry Ivey ’96 was awarded the John B. Santoianni Award for Excellence in Poetry given in memory of John B. Santoianni by the Academy of American Poets and Sarah Lawrence College on May 18, 2007. Perry works in the registrar’s office at Sarah Lawrence College and is taking advance courses in Creative  Writing with an emphasis on Poetry. Perry graduated from Georgia College and State University in May of 2003 with a BA degree in English Literature and a master’s degree from Georgia State in 2006. His goal is to teach in small college and complete his book of poetry.  He plans to attend New York University to work toward his doctorate. Perry is married to the former Julie Jones who graduated from Mercer University and recently graduated from The Atlantic College of Acting in New York City.  Julie will be acting in a movie with Elliot Gould entitled, “TheTelephone". Perry and Julie make their home in Tarrytown, New York a short distance from Sleepy Hollow.

1997

Robyn Jones ’97 Washburn and husband Casey announce the birth of their daughter, Ella Suzanne Washburn. Ella was born on August 8, 2007. She weighed 7 pounds 14.7 ounces and was 21 inches long.

Gina Gray ’97 Waters and husband Matt announce the birth of their daughter, Anna Kate. She was born October 11, 2007 weighing 7 pounds 1ounce and measuring 20 inches long.

Robert Hughes ’97 graduated from Mercer Law School in 2004, and is now practicing law at Brannen, Searcy & Smith, LLP in Savannah. He focuses on litigation and construction law.

1998

Tom Scott ’98 attended Samford University and now works in Birmingham, AL, for Computer Technology Solutions, Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer.

Matt Stone ’98 writes, "I heard through the grapevine that one of the newsletters referred to me as something synonymous with ‘M.I.A.’.  So here is an update on where I have been, where I am and what I am doing now.  In 1998 I went to Georgia Southern University to pursue a degree in Finance/Real Estate.  As a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity, I held 5 fraternal offices including Social Chairman and Assistant Rush Coordinator for 3 years each, and Pledge Football coach for 2 years. I was elected Vice President of Interfraternal Council and my position was Chairman of Financial Affairs, basically the head accountant for the entire Fraternal Body.  In December 2002 I graduated with the Finance/Real Estate degree. I took a job with Wyndham Capital Mortgage in August 2004 and have worked in their Atlanta office and their corporate office in Charlotte, NC as well as Savannah, GA, to serve as branch manager for the state of GA operations.  Currently, I am now in Charlotte as a Senior Mortgage Consultant, still with Wyndham Capital Mortgage and one of the top salesmen on my sales team.  I have no children and I am unmarried.  I have a beautiful 2 year old Vizsla (dog) named Banks and we are driving the ladies crazy, still after all these years!”  

 

Kristy Joaquin ’98 and Chris York of Griffin, GA, were married May 5, 2007, at the Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville, GA.  Kristy's sister, Lisa Joaquin ’91 Floyd of Cochran was the matron of honor.  Kristy graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  She is currently employed as a speech pathologist with Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.  Chris graduated from the University of Georgia in 2002 and is currently employed as a claims team leader with Progressive Insurance in Alpharetta.  Kristy and Chris are now living in Hoschton, GA.

Elizabeth Baxter ’98 Bennett and husband Cory announce the birth of their son William Adams Bennett born March 28, 2007. He weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 22 ½ inches long.

Valli Causey ’98 Berg and husband James announce the birth of their daughter. Martha Susan “Molly” was born October 17, 2007, weighing 5 pounds 14 ounces.

Congratulations to Tommy Cater who made the Dean’s List in spring semester 2007 at the University of Southern Mississippi.  Tommy graduated from Basic Training for the U.S. Army in July 1997 and served for three years in the Georgia National Guard.  Tommy earned Boy Scout’s highest honor when he was awarded the rank of Eagle in May 1998.  An avid swimmer, he earned Red Cross Lifesaver certification at the age of 15.  While working at Robins Air Force Base in Morale, Welfare, and Recreation as a life guard, he completed two years of course work at Macon State College before transferring to USM.  He is entering his third year, seeking a Bachelor in Health, Human Performance, and Recreation degree.

Caroline Parks ’98 Wall and husband Scott have a daughter named Abigail who is four years old. Caroline also has two step-daughters, Katie (12) and Megan (11). Caroline works for Jerry Barker Chevrolet and Hummer.

1999

Allison Oertel ’99 and Matt Barton were married at Ingleside Baptist Church on July 7, 2007.  FPD alumni in the wedding were Jennifer Scott ’99 Ferguson, Janelle Hensley ’99 Holton, Andrea Bittinger ’99 Hancock, Lauren Ann Jones ’99, and Gerrit Jon Oertel ’02.  The Bartons currently live in Macon. Allison works as a speech language pathologist at the Medical Center and Matt is a 3rd year medical student at Mercer University.

Katie Beth Higgins '99 and Adam Gottlieb were married June 23, 2007, at The Parador in Houston, Texas.  Katie's sisters, Maggie Higgins '02 and Emily Higgins, served as the maids of honor and Katie Beth's mother, Terri Higgins, walked her down the aisle.  Katie Beth and Adam graduated from Rice University in 2003.  She is currently a second year law student at the South Texas College of Law and a first year graduate student at the University of Texas School of Public Health and he is a mechanical engineer at Lyondell Chemical Company.  Katie Beth and Adam enjoyed a honeymoon on the Greek island of Mykonos and continue to reside in Houston.

Laura Wallace ’99 McGreggor and husband Brian welcomed a baby boy into their family this summer.  Dalton Neal McGreggor was born June 8, 2007, and weighed 6 pounds 8.4 ounces and was 20 inches long. 

Tiffany Thompson ’99 Buckthal and husband Eric are the proud parents of a baby boy. Bradley James was born November 1, 2007, weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and was 20 ¾ inches long.

Eric Wheeler ’99 and Ashley James were married September 22, 2007, at the Hay House in Macon, GA. Alumni in the wedding included Clayton Batts ’00, Gabe Stewart ’01, and Stephen Howell ’01. The Wheelers are living in Macon.

Lauren Jones ’99 is working at Brickyard at Riverside in Macon as membership director. Lauren will be responsible for the membership program, serving as the liaison between members and club management. She will also help with the induction of new members and retention of existing members through networking and developing relationships.

2000

Sean Caldon, a GCSU Digital Media graduate, is now the “Assistant Lead Editor” of Speed Channel located in Los Angeles, CA.

2001

David Bragg ’01 was married June 2, 2007, to Bree Hickox from Clayton, GA, at the Kingwood Resort and Country Club in Clayton, GA.  In the wedding were brothers Jason Bragg ’99 and Michael Bragg (FPD 9th), and sister Laura Bragg ’05.  They are currently living in Gainesville, GA.

Ashley Mize ’01 and Brandon Alderman became engaged this past May. Their wedding is planned for April 5, 2008, in Savannah, where they both live and work and will continue to live after the wedding.

Lyndsay Roberts ’01 and Nathan Rushing were married June 16, 2007, at Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Macon. Alumni groomsmen in the wedding included her brothers Ben Roberts ’93 and Daniel Roberts ’96.The matron of honor was Carol Keys ’01.

Kevin Summers ’01 and Dana Bosso were married on October 6, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Macon.  Kevin graduated from Auburn University in 2005 with a BA degree in Professional Flight Management.  He is a First Officer with Express Jet Airlines based in Houston, TX.  He and Dana are living in Austin, TX.

Logan Caldon '01 Jones and husband Brian were blessed with their first child, Hannah Elizabeth, on October 14, 2007.  She weighed 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. Brian, Logan and Hannah live just outside Houston,  Texas. 

2002

Ryan Purvis ’02 graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Tech with a degree in civil engineering. Ryan was very involved at Georgia Tech. His activities included: member of Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society, member of Briaerean Honor Society for Co-op Program, member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, Vice President of ASCE Savannah chapter, Student Advisory Council, and Student Affairs Committee.

Mary Jo Causey ’02 and Matt Simmons are engaged and plan to be married May 3, 2008.

Christy Hay ’02 writes, “Life has been extremely exciting the last few years for me. Last summer I went on two very exciting trips. In May, I sailed for ten days in the British Virgin Islands. Then I did a study abroad program in Paris, France for the rest of the summer. I studied International Business while I was over there and traveled to England, Spain, and the Netherlands. I have some wonderful memories and pictures that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I graduated from Valdosta State University and was hired by Wells Fargo Financial in April. I accepted the position in the small town of Albany, Georgia! I have learned so much from this job and was awarded ‘Employee of the Month’ in July for the District and ‘Rookie of the Quarter’ for 3 rd quarter this year. Plan on getting my on branch May of next year if things continue the way they have. All in all… life is wonderful!”

Micah delaRosa ’02 and Hillary Luna were married June 22, 2007, at 6:30 in the evening in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Historic Locust Hill in Tuscumbia, AL. FPD alumni in the wedding were Jacob delaRosa ’04, Megan delaRosa ’05, Bert Barnes ’02, and Jason Faulkner ’02. The delaRosas enjoyed a honeymoon to Saint Lucia and are now living in Birmingham, AL.

Denby Baxter ’02 and Preston Heard were married July 14, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church in Macon. Denby's sister and brother, Elizabeth Baxter '98 Bennett and David Baxter (FPD 11th), were in the wedding party. The Heards are now living in Washington, D.C.

2003

Bill Anderson ’03 graduated from Samford University. He majored in Accounting and Business Administration.

Bryan Caldon ’03 and wife Laura recently bought their first home just outside Seattle, WA. Bryan, a Naval Nuclear Engineer Instructor, is now stationed at Bremerton Naval Base with the USS John Stennis Aircraft Carrier.

Juan Arzayus ’03 writes, “I recently graduated from Valdosta State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Aerospace Studies (fancy name for Military Personnel Management from the AFROTC at VSU) after returning from a study abroad program to England and Scotland where I completed the remaining courses for my degree. It was an awesome two months of travel in the UK. There I had a chance to visit all the known land marks of these two great countries and a first hand look to the operations of several Law Enforcement Agencies that work hand-in-hand with US agencies like the London Metropolitan Police, the Scotlandyard and the Scottish Police College .  It was a lot of fun!!! After graduation I started Basic Mandated Law Enforcement Training at the  Georgia Public Safety Training Center-Regional Police Academy in Tifton, where I went through ten weeks of fun but challenging police training, from firearms to emergency vehicle operations. It was an amazing learning experience and very cool stuff. I just completed it and graduated with academic honors. Now I will go back to VSU to work with their Department of Public Safety as a Patrol Officer and where I will enter the Master’s of Public Administration in the spring of '08. My brother and I have been pretty busy since we left FPD but we never forget the lessons learned and memories that we gained there in the classroom and on the field, all which have been essential for our spiritual strength and success thus far.”

2004

Carlos Arzayus ’04 started his senior year at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah as a Goizueta Coca-Cola Co. Scholar and a Bank of America and Clifton Trust of Macon scholarships recipient. There he will be finishing a dual degree in Economics and Finances and keeps very active as a chapter founding father of the PI KAPPA ALPHA fraternity, a board member and chair of the Campus Union Board where he arranges musical guests from around the country to visit the AASU campus to provide live entertainment, fellow member of the Hispanic Outreach and Leadership at Armstrong Organization and team member of the Dept. of Recreation and Wellness Fitness Facility.

2007

Matthew Goings '07 is a freshman at the University of Georgia where he plays tenor saxophone in the Redcoat Band.
